The Lot offers the good life and an excellent local cuisine. Here, local plums are distilled for "eau de vie"; there are walnuts, foie gras and duck 'confit'; mushroom picking and truffle tasting. The Quercy is well known for its lamb and Rocamadour for its “cabécou” (goat cheese). As for Cahors wine, the "black wine of the popes" it no longer needs to prove its credentials.
